Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire sits proudly on top of its limestone mound, overlooking the picturesque town of Clitheroe. From its top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Ribble Valley’s historic landscape, with Pendle Hill in the distance.
A castle has dominated this skyline for over 800 years and could date back as far as 1102. The Medieval keep we see today is minimal, the second smallest in the country. Today, only the keep and the walls around it are all that’s left of medieval times. The buildings in the bailey grounds date from the Georgian period. On the site, there is the castle house, which is Clitheroe Castle Museum, which has extensive displays of the area’s geology and the human history of the Clitheroe region, stretching from the prehistoric to the present day.
During your ghost hunt at Clitheroe Castle, you will investigate the castle keep and the castle museum.
Over the years, numerous strange happenings at Clitheroe Castle could not be explained, from visitors feeling unwell in certain areas of the museum to people being touched by unseen hands in the castle keep to strange voice phenomena captured on EVP experiments.

Arrival is 15 minutes before the event start time, early admittance is not permitted.
