Staveley Hall was built in the early 1600s. However, a dwelling has been on this site dating back to the Normal conquest. Staveley has been used as a family to two generations of the same noble family home and later a home for members of the members of the local clergy, this location has more than it’s fair share of spooky happenings.
There are so many stories of tragedy and dismay connected to spooky Staveley Hall and tales of the old resident’s ghosts lurking in the hallways and haunting the building, often terrifying staff and visitors, some of whom have refused to return.
The church next to the hall also has its share of scary stories, most of which have resulted in further hauntings both at the church and in the hall itself.
People have reported the sounds of heavy footsteps running up behind them, only for them to turn around and no one to be there, disembodied voices whispering in people’s ears, and screams coming from empty rooms. Objects have been witnessed moving of their own accord, along with people being touched or pushed, plus much, much more.
