The Mansion House (Y Plasty) was the official residence of the Lord Mayor until 1971. It dates back to 1896 and was built for a local businessman. The house was originally called ‘The Grove’ and was built as a large family home. The Cardiff Corporation bought it in 1913, and it has been grade II listed since 2002. 

The building is now used as an event venue, and guests often report ghostly happenings during events such as weddings. Visitors have reported seeing full apparitions, being touched by unseen hands, and hearing the ghostly sounds of children’s laughter. They have also reported experiencing the eerie presence of male energy.
