Great House is a grade II listed building and was built in the early 1500s and made from local limestone. Used as a family home during the Elizabethan period and remained with the same family for four generations. Inside, the derelict staircase came from Dunraven Castle. There is a hidden passageway within the wall that leads from one floor to another; was this used as a hideout or quick escape? There have been countless recorded deaths within the house. Who could be behind the ghostly going on in this amazing location?
Anne Boleyn visited the Great House several times, and her face is carved into one of the original door panels. A mischievous spirit has been witnessed running up the stairs and in and out of rooms, a woman is heard shouting on the lower floors and the spirit of a gentleman who likes to scare children, doors opening and closing along with the kettle turning on of its own accord.
